Lifting a laundry basket to quickly the wrong way and felt something pop? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog we will be talking about which household chores are the main culprits to our pain!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Repetitive Tasks (Cleaning\/Washing)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Repetitive tasks usually lead to pain as you are forcing your body to do things for a prolonged time which may be done with <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/can-poor-posture-affect-your-breathing\/\">poor posture<\/a> or even incorrect leaning or bending over which are the most common causes of <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/back-pain\">low back pain<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lifting Heavy Objects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is common for us to <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/top-5-health-tips-for-fifo-workers\/\">lift objects<\/a> without knowing exactly how much they way. At times lifting certain things can also become awkward and this is usually where things can go wrong. It can be as simple as turning over a mattress or lifting up a laundry basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reaching Or Twisting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Same as lifting rotation of our body involves us to move ourselves into awkward positions. Rotation should always be limited when reaching for things especially when carrying objects. Its is common for people to hurt themselves by straining either their <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/is-cracking-your-neck-a-bad-habit\/\">neck<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/why-does-my-pain-keep-coming-back\/\">low back<\/a> just from something as simple as turning their <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/neck-pain\">neck<\/a> to quickly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prolonged Sitting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/the-truth-about-desk-work-and-back-pain\/\">Prolonged sitting<\/a> whether it be at the work desk or the family couch can cause detrimental affects to the body. Muscles tend to tighten up when they are not moved enough hence why pain and especially <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/all-about-muscle-tightness-stiffness\/\">tightness<\/a> in areas may arise before you know it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Incorrect Sleeping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/%f0%9f%98%b4the-importance-of-sleep-%f0%9f%98%b4\/\">Sleeping is great<\/a> when done appropriately but when we are putting ourselves in a compromised position we are actually doing ourselves more harm then good. <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/the-importance-of-rest-days\/\">Sleeping<\/a> on the couch is always a big no as well as sleeping on your stomach. This is because the <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/can-chiropractors-help-unlevelled-postures\/\">curves of our spine<\/a> are not in a neutral position causes us the usual <a href=\"https:\/\/themelbournechiropractor.com.au\/blog\/neck-pain-causes-treatment-options\/\">neck pain<\/a>.
