What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a manual form of medicine aimed at restoring function to the body by treating the causes of pain and imbalances. Practitioners focus holistically, often directing attention to issues with alignment.
Osteopaths understand the importance of balance and symmetry, acknowledging that a well-aligned body has the inherent ability to heal itself.
Three Primary Concepts
Dynamic Unity
The body is a dynamic unit of function—everything within the body is interconnected.
Self-Healing
The body is able to self-heal and regulate naturally when given the right conditions.
Structure & Function
Structure governs function—when in proper alignment, the body functions as it should.
Training & Treatment Approach
Our osteopaths are trained to treat a broad range of health conditions across multiple body systems:
- Musculoskeletal — muscles and bones
- Vascular — veins and arteries
- Nervous — nerves and neural pathways
- Visceral — internal organs
They have completed a 5-year degree as Masters of Osteopathy, are registered with AHPRA, hold relevant Osteopathic Insurance, and are Members of Osteopathy Australia.

Treatment Techniques
Our osteopaths use a variety of evidence-based manual therapy techniques tailored to your needs.
Muscle Energy Technique
A form of manual therapy using your own gentle muscular contractions to relax and lengthen restricted muscles, improving flexibility and reducing tension.
Soft Tissue Technique
Light or firm pressure applied to muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia to reduce muscle tone and release tension throughout the connective tissue.
Spinal & Joint Manipulation
A quick, gentle thrust delivered to the desired joint—often producing a pop or click—to increase range of motion. Practiced by both our osteopaths and chiropractors.
Dry Needling
Insertion of sterile, single-use acupuncture needles into muscles to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and release myofascial trigger points.
Articulation
Passive, repeated movement of affected joints into and out of motion barriers to gently improve your range of motion over time.

Comprehensive Diagnosis
Our osteopaths take a detailed case history and perform a comprehensive physical examination on all patients. They examine and test:
- Joint range of motion
- Muscle strength and durability
- Nervous system response
- Orthopaedic assessments
In some cases, we refer patients for imaging—MRI, X-ray, or ultrasound—to support a diagnosis and provide a clearer clinical picture of your condition.
